FlexiCapture – Multi-Pollutant Emission Capture System for Maritime Vessels

Why now: compliance cost is no longer optional

Demand for onboard capture is created by mandatory regulation, not by voluntary sustainability budgets.

EU ETS

In force. Shipping now sits inside the EU Emissions Trading System. Every tonne emitted on EU voyages carries a price, set by the carbon market.

FuelEU Maritime

Tightens annually. Mandatory greenhouse gas intensity limits tighten each year, with penalties that apply independently of the ETS trading price.

IMO Net-Zero Framework

Global. The IMO's GHG Strategy sets progressively stricter global intensity targets, with a regulatory work plan for onboard capture underway.

How FlexiCapture works

Proprietary sorbent chemistry, reactor engineering with process intensification, and model-predictive control.

Carbon Capture

The breakthrough is fit

Conventional amine capture is simply too large for the vessels that most need it.

Why not just switch fuels, or electrify?

Every alternative route asks the operator to replace or rebuild the ship. Fuel switching and electrification are the long-term answer for newbuilds. Neither helps the vessels already in the water with a decade or more of hull life left.

Conventional marine CCS

Built for large deep-sea vessels. Very large footprint, and not compatible with retrofit.

Fuel switching

Newbuild-focused. Requires vessel redesign and complex new fuel infrastructure, on a long transition timeline.

Battery / electrification

Short-range only. Battery-space intensive, with charging constraints.
